Progress continues on our Sheridan Station project in West Denver! Most of the exterior façade has been completed and unit finishes are being installed across all levels. With the project nearing completion, pre-leasing is expected to start soon.
Like many firms across our industry, navigating the challenges of this pandemic while working on projects has required us to be flexible and creative in finding solutions. Various systems and accommodations have been put in place to maintain the safety of the on-site workers, while also keeping this project on schedule and without compromising the design.
To allow workers to keep a distance in elevators without slowing down the pace of work, two elevators were installed on site rather than just one.
Many of the manufacturers we work with have been impacted in one way or the other by the pandemic, so we’ve had to remain flexible with installation timelines throughout the project. We are so thankful for our project partners Mile High Development, Brinshore Development and Alliance Construction Solutions who have been incredibly flexible and smart in working through these hurdles and coming up with creative solutions to keep the project moving.
Located at 13th and Sheridan, Sheridan Station Apartments will offer 133 permanently affordable units with immediate access to RTD’s W Line. The apartments will include one, two and three-bedroom units.
The ongoing need for affordable housing in Denver has been intensified by the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Since mid-March, more than 540,000 Coloradans have filed unemployment claims and according to affordable housing experts, Coloradans will need at least $291 million in rent and mortgage assistance this year.
Sheridan Station is slated for completion in January 2021.
