August was a big month for JOHNSON NATHAN STROHE as the firm welcomed two new team members and celebrated the promotion of Blaire Weiser to Senior Interior Designer. Intern Architects Carrie Cardona and Sindhuri Patllola are great additions to our team, bringing new ideas and energy to the firm as we continue to create some of the most vibrant new spaces in Denver.
Blaire joined the JOHNSON NATHAN STROHE team in 2015 as an interior designer. In addition to deep roots in the hospitality industry, she brings more than seven years of experience to her new role as Senior Interior Designer. Blaire has produced exceptional work on a number of projects at JOHNSON NATHAN STROHE, including The Perry Hotel Key West and The Maven Hotel at Dairy Block. She is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys taking long hikes in the mountains with her dog, in addition to being a certified sailing canoe and kayak instructor.
In Carrie’s own words:
Why did you join JOHNSON NATHAN STROHE? This is a place that values craft and efficient use of time and space, while never sacrificing aesthetics and values.
What is the best advice you have been given? Dory says it best: “Just keep swimming!”
What is your favorite thing about Colorado? NOT leading an active lifestyle is considered taboo.
What is your background? I was born and raised in the Washington, D.C. suburbs and received my Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Virginia. My interest in architecture began when I discovered I wouldn’t have to make a choice between my interests in psychology, art, math and environmental science. Architecture brings these, and more, disciplines together. I grew up surrounded by the architecture and principles of the founding fathers, under my Spanish-speaking Salvadoran mother’s roof. This upbringing helped foster a strong internal sense of duty to my community, no matter where life takes me. For the past three years, I have lived in the Denver suburbs, gaining inspiration from the geography of the Rocky Mountains. I completed my Master of Architecture at the University of Colorado Denver in 2017.
In Sindhuri’s own words:
Why did you join JOHNSON NATHAN STROHE? In order to push my career to next level I had to choose a firm where there is empowerment, recognition and a strong network of talented professionals.
What is a little-known fact about you? I recently started learning to box.
What is your favorite thing about Colorado? Camping and hiking in the Rocky Mountains!
What is your background? I was born and brought up in Hyderabad, India, and received my Bachelor of Architecture from Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University. I have three years of experience in multi-family housing, hospitality, commercial and educational design. I moved to Albuquerque in 2015 to pursue a Master of Architecture from University of New Mexico. I am a licensed architect in India.
