Progress is underway on our pool house project at the North End Neighborhood of Stapleton (a master-planned community in Denver). JOHNSON NATHAN STROHE provided the architecture and interior design for the pool house.
The project features bathrooms, showers and a concession space for the Stapleton neighborhood residents. Our design incorporates large steel gables with decorative Knotwood infill elements. The interiors are elegantly clad in tile with cedar ceilings and polycarbonate panels on the north end to let in natural light while maintaining privacy for its users.
The North End neighborhood is the final piece in completing the Stapleton community, which is the largest urban infill redevelopment in the country. Brookfield Properties (formerly Forest City) worked as the master developer on the community, which was the former site of the Stapleton International Airport before it closed in 1995.
Construction in the community began in 2001, and residents moved into Stapleton’s first apartments in 2004. Today, Stapleton has become the city of Denver’s largest neighborhood with vast mixed-use and commercial space, affordable housing and green space.
