Masked up and equipped with PPE, the JNS team safely visited the site on our Sheridan Station Apartments project earlier this month.
Located directly adjacent to the RTD Sheridan light rail station, Sheridan Station Apartments will offer 133 permanently affordable units. The apartments will include one, two and three-bedroom units, providing affordability for both individuals and families.
Addressing the affordable housing inventory shortage remains a challenge in Colorado, a state with an existing crisis that has been amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic. According to affordable housing experts, Coloradans will need at least $291 million in rent and mortgage assistance this year.
In collaboration with partners Mile High Development, Brinshore Development and Alliance Construction, this 129,274-square-foot project is slated for completion in December 2020 and is scheduled to welcome residents in the first quarter of 2021.
In-unit amenities include a full kitchen with dishwasher, range, refrigerator, stovetop, oven, garbage disposal and storage closet, plus in‐unit washers and dryers and cable/internet wiring. Each unit will also have individual heating and cooling control through an Aquatherm system.
Tenants will also have access to a community room, fitness center and on‐site leasing office.
The building is being constructed to comply with Enterprise Green Communities criteria, a standard for the design, construction and operation of healthy, energy efficient and environmentally responsible affordable housing.
