NEWLY RENOVATED SHERATON DENVER DOWNTOWN NOW A DOWNTOWN DENVER AWARDS FINALIST

We’re thrilled to see the Sheraton Denver Downtown named a finalist for the 2021 Downtown Denver Awards put on by the Downtown Denver Partnership! Celebrating city builders who are making the Mile High City an inclusive community where we all want to live, work and play, we are honored to be recognized among this talented group of peers.

Denver Mayor Michael Hancock visited the newly renovated space at the official ribbon cutting ceremony on September 16. While the $80 million renovation project was completed earlier this year, large gatherings were delayed due to the pandemic. And as the Denver Business Journal reports, the hotel is already selling out on weekends with occupancy rates comparable to 2019 levels just a few months later.

We are proud to see the renovations contribute to the recent lodging success of the hotel and look forward to seeing even more traffic at its indoor-outdoor spaces, like the captivating Bezel lounge. The Bezel connects the geometry of the original I.M. Pei tower with the newly reimagined porte-cochere and bar façade to attract passers-by from the 16th Street Mall.

The hotel’s reimagined public spaces are one of our favorite parts of its renovation. Inspired by the spirit of the traveler, the concept drew from the carefree and adventurous attitude of the Beat Generation, whose appetite for discovery and desire to find community redefined how we view life “on the road.” We look forward to seeing travelers and Denverites alike enjoying their favorite cocktails and warming up by the fire this fall and are excited to hear the winning projects announced at the Downtown Denver Awards ceremony on Wednesday, October 27th!
