Where hospitality is headed next
The beginning of a new year always invites time for reflection—and in our case, much of that contemplation has regarded the opportunities and challenges currently facing the hospitality industry. On the one hand, we have seen a dramatic rise in demand for traditional hotel concepts, as rising costs, restrictive cancellation policies and hidden fees have soured customer perspectives on Airbnb and similar vacation rentals.
OUTSIDE OUR COMFORT ZONE
While JNS has always worked in sectors outside the hotel industry—from multifamily developments to the reimagining of landmark buildings—our background in hospitality has shaped the way we view every project. In particular, the mixed private and public spaces at hotels are a unique feature of their functionality, making them destinations for far larger audiences than the guests who happen to sleep there.
