EXPERIENCING HOSPITALITY IN-PERSON ONCE AGAIN
Our architecture and design teams had the opportunity to host an in-person tour of the newly remodeled Sheraton Denver Downtown with NEWH Rocky Mountain. The member-exclusive tour took hospitality design colleagues through this beatnik-inspired refresh of IM Pei’s original 1961 hotel design, including its Porte Cochere, façade and public spaces.
Partner Tobias Strohe and Associate Blaire Weiser (a NEWH Board member) guided guests along the tour, which ended at the captivating Bezel lounge. This cocktail destination connects the geometry of the original PEI tower with the newly reimagined porte-cochere and bar façade to attract passers-by from the adjacent 16th Street Mall.
Throughout the hotel, collaborative public spaces seek to bring people together in personalized ways – with options to gather informally around a community table, take phone calls in private, modern phone booths or use a high-tech studio for a small team huddle.
It was a treat to help host the first in-person event for NEWH since the pandemic and demonstrate flexible ways both business and leisure travelers can enjoy public spaces despite the challenges of a global pandemic.
We are proud to be part of the re-activation of the east end of the mall and can’t wait to see all of the traffic these indoor-outdoor spaces at the Sheraton Denver Downtown get!
