DENVER ARCHITECTURE FOUNDATION TOURS CITY PARK GOLF COURSE
In June, JNS team member Jovina Amor helped guide an exclusive tour for the Denver Architecture Foundation around the renovated City Park Golf Course, including the City Park Golf Clubhouse, which JNS designed as part of the $45 million overhaul of the golf course.
The tour highlighted the strategic placement and design of the 11,280-square-foot clubhouse, the design and construction of the new stormwater infrastructure and the improved golf course playability.
Jovina joined our colleagues Bill Vitek at Dig Studios and Todd Schoeder of GrassRoots Golf Design for the tour.
We designed the City Park Golf Clubhouse to complement the park’s existing public buildings, combining raw steel and cross-laminated timber reminiscent of early 20th Century golf club construction. In keeping with Denver’s goals for sustainable building, the clubhouse is designed for LEED Gold certification and incorporates energy conservation, photovoltaic solar panels and locally sourced materials.
After several years of work by the project team, the renovated 136-acre City Park Golf Course opened to the public in September 2020.
