VIDEO: TAKE A PEEK INSIDE THE NEW AND IMPROVED SHERATON HOTEL
Sitting at the corner of Court Place and the iconic 16th Street Mall in Downtown Denver, the Sheraton Downtown Denver hotel is coming to life with a new and improved design. JNS is incredibly proud to be providing the architecture and interior design for the hotel’s public spaces and porte cochere.
Here are a few fun facts about the Sheraton Hotel renovation:
The structural steel K-Brace in the Members Lounge turned into a major design element. The structure hidden in an existing wall was uncovered during the demo process and the team had to shift quickly to address this major element. Our team was able to creatively rework our plan around this to create a focal point of the design, intentionally integrating the table and booth seating wth the structure.
JNS selected copper as an important finish in the lobby as a nod to the Denver Mint, one of only four in the U.S. Located a few blocks away near Civic Center Park, the Denver Mint has been producing coins for circulation since 1906.
The striking geometry of the Porte Cochere was inspired by I.M.Pei’s work and marks the entrance off the street and engages with the Mall.
