BEZEL AT SHERATON DOWNTOWN DENVER
Faceted Urban Elegance

An eye-catching addition to our ground floor renovation for the Downtown Denver Sheraton, Bezel was conceived as an upscale, independent cocktail bar and rentable event space. With frontage along the 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver, Bezel’s location offered an opportunity to make a statement at the end of the highly commercial 16th street mall—a complementary bookend to Union Station, which had successfully revitalized the opposite, northwestern end of the downtown district. This central location also presented an opportunity to serve multiple audiences, including both travelers and office workers from the financial district.

Our design focused on extending the geometries and play of light established by the new porte-cochère canopy, channeling the traditional cut crystal of a whiskey tumbler. From the faceted mirrors on the back bar (which scatter light throughout the space), to the angular forms of a glass curtain wall, to the use of amber lighting and brass fixtures, the space envelopes guests in a glowing, gem-like environment with a distinctly urban ambiance.
