CITY PARK GOLF CLUBHOUSE
Reframing an Iconic Denver View

When we were asked to reimagine the City Park Golf Clubhouse, our primary goal was to capture the park’s iconic downtown views (with the mountains in the background), while also honoring the urban golf course’s 100+ year history. Encompassing both the Clubhouse itself and an onsite maintenance facility, the redesign of these spaces was intended to serve not only avid golfers, but also a wide range of non-golf gatherings, including weddings, family reunions and business meetings.

Beyond the use of natural materials such as stone, wood and glass, this project also had a deeper environmental goal: LEED Gold certification. Designed with an aesthetic sense of timeless simplicity, the sweeping, curvilinear form of the clubhouse enhances public functions with a westerly facade that frames stunning golf, city and mountain views. The inner portion of the curved form houses operational functions, including a kitchen, restrooms and office space. Throughout the building's public spaces, we included a series of moveable walls, allowing for an adaptive, multi-purpose functionality that accommodates varying sizes of gatherings and functions without further expanding the Clubhouse’s footprint.
