This month, JNS safely gathered for a site walk at our Fitzgerald multifamily project to see construction progress. These site walks are a great way to keep our entire team involved in our projects and provide fantastic learning opportunities for our junior-level designers.

At JNS, we are proud to create beautiful spaces that truly contribute to the fabric of the community. The newly renovated Sheraton Hotel provides an anchor at the east end of the 16th Street Mall, bringing renewed energy and activation to the area.

JNS, along with project partners Mile High Development, Brinshore Development, Alliance Construction Solutions and the Urban Land Conservancy, celebrated the grand opening of Sheridan Station Apartments with a virtual ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 26, complete with remarks from Denver Mayor Michael Hancock.

March is Women’s History Month, specifically meant to lift up and celebrate women of all kinds, but at JNS, we take pride in our gender diversity year-round. Historically, architecture has been a male-dominated profession, but women are increasingly entering and making their mark on the field. JNS remains dedicated to paving the way for women to continue doing great things in design.

JNS recently celebrated the completion of the Mae on Cascade, a striking new multifamily project in the shadow of Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs. Named for Fannie Mae Duncan, the Mae takes inspiration from its namesake while also paying tribute to her social work. Fannie Mae was a jazz musician and owner of the famed Cotton Club in Colorado Springs in the 1950s. She welcomed anyone into her club that was age 21 or older, regardless of race – a rarity in that time.

Liz McDonald, principal at JOHNSON NATHAN STROHE, is a dynamic leader known for designing and delivering spaces that achieve the perfect balance of creativity and practicality. As the firm’s youngest principal, she oversees the firm’s multifamily division, leading projects that are at the forefront of housing trends.

JNS was proud to take part in the renovation of the Sheraton Downtown Denver hotel, an architectural icon in downtown Denver originally designed by renowned architect I.M. Pei. The team wanted to pay homage to Pei and his vision while honoring the Sheraton’s important place in the fabric of downtown Denver.

JNS recently completed the renovation of a 270-room hotel in Denver’s Cherry Creek neighborhood. Our team provided architecture and interior design services for the hotel, which was converted from a Holiday Inn to a DoubleTree by Hilton. The re-brand meant upgrading the hotel’s interior to match the new flag and creating a space befitting Cherry Creek’s upscale aesthetic.

Sitting at the corner of Court Place and the iconic 16th Street Mall in Downtown Denver, the Sheraton Downtown Denver hotel is coming to life with a new and improved design. JNS is incredibly proud to be providing the architecture and interior design for the hotel’s public spaces and porte cochere.

An eclectic art piece commissioned by JNS for inclusion in the renovated Sheraton Downtown Denver hotel was recently featured in Hospitality Design magazine, which showcases design in hotels, restaurants and other hospitality spaces around the world.

This month, the JNS team gathered in the most 2020 way possible for our virtual holiday party! Donning Santa hats and holiday sweaters with some very festive virtual (and real!) backgrounds, we poured celebratory drinks and said “cheers” to another year.

Celebrating and enhancing the experience of the world traveler is at the heart of the Sheraton Hotel’s reimagined story. Through every carefully selected material and customized detail found throughout the hotel, our design works to capture the early traveler’s spirit – one that saw possibility in the world at every turn.
